Marketing Plan Basics: 8 Essentials to Attract Your Ideal Clients!
Increasingly, the mass marketing is turning into a mass of niches. ~Chris Anderson
Anything worth doing needs a plan. That’s true in just about every area of life, and it is certainly true in business! A good plan should motivate you to take action and should move you forward towards your goals.
In your efforts to market your small business, you need a marketing plan, one that is simple yet powerful. Creating and implementing a marketing plan doesn’t have to be overwhelming or complicated, and actually it should be empowering.
Your marketing plan should easily communicate to you and to your team what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how you should do it.
Ultimately, your marketing plan should work to bring you a regular stream of the right kind of clients and result in a business that turns a significant profit.
This week I want to share with you the 8 essential elements for a solid marketing plan that WILL attract clients! Each of the 8 elements comes to you in the form of a question. Consider each one and answer it thoughtfully. Once you have answered all 8, you’ll have yourself a basic marketing plan!
If you want to take this to the next level of implementation in your own business and you need step-by-step help, consider my Go Build A Biz System for a Thriving & Profitable Business FAST! (http://www.GoBuildABiz.com )
The next session starts in February!
Margo’s 8 Essentials Marketing Plan Basics to Attract Your Ideal Clients:
1. WHAT IS My Business Purpose?
KNOW WHY YOU ARE IN BUSINESS
You must know the purpose of your business, other than to make a profit. Know specifically what VALUE and
BENEFITS you are offering your potential customers (what you will do for your corner of the world).
2. WHO IS My Customer?
KNOW WHO YOUR TARGETED CUSTOMER IS
You must know all about your target audience. Give serious thought to your IDEAL customers—the kind you would LOVE to sell to. Be crystal clear about who you are going after and what it is about them that causes them to need you.
3. WHAT IS My Niche?
KNOW YOUR UNIQUE “NICHE” IN THE MARKETPLACE
What specific area of your industry are you an “Expert” in? What specific problems do you solve and what important concerns and issues to do address for your ideal clients?
4. WHAT IS My Position?
KNOW WHAT MAIN THING SEPARATES YOU FROM THE COMPETITION
You must know the specific posture or position that will set you apart from competitors in your industry. You must know what type of business and what type of “business personality” you want to have. What identifiable attribute(s) makes you unique? Discover or create your competitive advantage. What is it (or what will it be) that separates you from others and that may be hard for them to copy?
5. HOW Will My Position Be Possible?
KNOW HOW YOUR UNIQUE POSITION WILL BE MADE POSSIBLE AND WHAT IT WILLTAKE TO IMPLEMENT YOUR PLAN
You must know what specific resources you will need and what arrangements must be made to make your unique position a reality. You must create your strategy to establish your position in your market.
6. HOW Will I Intensify My Position?
KNOW HOW YOU WILL REALLY INTENSIFY AND MAKE SECURE YOUR GOOD POSITION
In other words, how will I really magnify my business personality and position in order to create a solid emotional
connection with my clients? What extra or special things can I do to make the customers want to do business with me instead of someone else who may provide the same products and services? How can I connect on a more meaningful plane with my prospects so they are continually reminded that I am the one who has this unique position that will help them?
7. HOW Will I Get The Word Out?
KNOW HOW PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT YOU DO AND HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT THEM
This is your creative strategy. Use your imagination on ways you can create awareness both with money and without. Start with “marketing with no money and marketing with low, money” strategies and then include other marketing and advertising strategies as sales increase.
8. WHAT % Of Sales Will Go To Marketing?
KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY YOU PLAN TO SPEND EACH MONTH AND EACH YEAR ON MARKETING
Having a clear marketing budget will help you to plan your personal marketing activities in advance each month and will force you to measure and to disregard activities that prove to be ineffective in gaining customers.
OK, so this gives you something to think about. You have to take your business eriously and look at these things if you want to make monwy. BUT, you do not have to do this alone. I can help you. I can bring you step-by-step through this process and also help you include all of the important details I did not have time to go into here. In a matter of weeks you will be well on your way to business success with SOLID marketing that is designed to attract exactly the kind of clients you want and the kind that will GLADLY pay you for your help.
