In Loving Memory of Stephen Covey, 5 Quotes to Focus on What Matters Most
The news of Stephen Covey’s passing was deeply sad. We said goodbye to a man of purpose, character and integrity. His most noted work, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” has been and will continue to be one of the most influential self-help and personal improvement books of all time.
Steven Covey’s mission was all about helping others to see what is most important, and to make the most of the precious time we have on this Earth. it is so easy to get distracted in life, and pull our attention and focus away from what matters most. It is up to each one of use to channel and direct our energy and activities so that we accomplish what we are here to do while connecting meaningfully with those we are here to enrich.
Here are five Stephen Covey quotes to help you stay focused on what matters most:
1) The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
2) The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
3) Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important.
4) You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage—pleasantly, smilingly, nonapologetically, to say “no” to other things. And the way you do that is by having a bigger “yes” burning inside. The enemy of the “best” is often the “good.”
5) Live, love, laugh, leave a legacy.

What an amazing man, who was an inspiration to us all. May we continue to learn and grow from all he shared with us.
Yes Kathy, he was amazing because he had true integrity. I agree with you, and I think we WILL continue to grow from his body of work that thankfully he left behind for all of us. This was a big part of his legacy.
Makes you think, doesn’t it?
Thanks so much for reading and sharing.
Hugs,
Margo

Such an incredible man with an exquisite mind and boundless compassion. I’m so glad he’s left such an inspirational (& aspirational!) legacy in the form of his writing, his family and the impression he has made on the lives of people across the globe. How great it must be to know that the world was a better place because you were in it.
Teresa, I cannot agree more.
The beauty of his life is that it was a testament to what we can also do and be– what we can accomplish, how we can make a difference for others, and what we can leave behind for our children, friends, family, colleagues, and even society.
One person holds the potential for so much inspiration, encouragement, and influence. A life like that is like a flask of expensive perfume: the power of its essence changes the environment and perception of everyone around it.
You nailed it. It is all about LEGACY!
Love and hugs, and thanks for stopping by,
Margo
